The Cauldron has been fostering discussion and debate between Pagans of all the many different Pagan religions and their friends since December of We first suggest reading this entire message for some background about what you can expect around here, and how we got here.

The current version of our message board uses the popular SMF message board software, modified a bit for how we do things. About our members Our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, religions, and experience levels.

You will find many different religions and magical traditions: Traditional Wiccans, Eclectic Wiccans, Ceremonial Mages, Reconstructionists from different cultures, Christians, and many more can be found on our message board. You will find some members have been on their path for 20 or 30 years and others who are just starting down the road.

You will find teens, college students, young adults, older adults, and retired people from many different countries on our board. As our board has many experienced Pagan members and many discussions are intended for those who are no longer beginners, our message board can seem intimidating to newer folk.

To help, we have special boards set aside as "Beginner Friendly": the Paganism for Beginners board where people new to Pagan religions can post their questions and concerns; the Magic and the Occult for Beginners board for people new to Magic, and the Books and Other Resources board where you can discover if a book or web site is worth your time or not. If you choose to post on these boards, our more experienced members will realize you are a beginner and try to provide help accordingly.

Note that people will still correct you if you've got incorrect information or are citing a poor quality resource, but they are expected to take your questions as being made in sincere good faith. Getting to know us We are a Pagan-focused forum, but we welcome friendly non-Pagan members. We've even had a Christian theologian as staff in the past.

If you think non-Pagan religions are evil, don't wish to see Christian or other non-Pagan views, or want to insult other religions, we are probably not the place for you. Critical discussion of Christianity or any other religion is allowed, under the same rules as any other topic we talk about.

Profile information in the sidebar through the website access to the forum allows you to share basic information about your location or nationality, your religion identification, and the pronouns you use. We include these things so people can be aware of your preferences, or suggest more useful resources for a particular topic.

Skimming through a thread of any length makes it clear the range of backgrounds we have on the forum. We focus on discussion and debate Our message board is oriented toward more serious and often somewhat scholarly discussion and debate than many Pagan discussion areas.

Due to the wide variety of experiences, backgrounds, and religions of our members, you may often come across views and opinions you do not normally come across in other Pagan discussion spaces.I'm trying to create my own cauldron so that it will do 2 things differently than the vanilla cauldron. I have been able to accomplish this with ease, by testing my edits on the base class files, so I know for sure what stuff to change in my copy-and-pastes.

My main problem is I don't quite understand how to make my own Custom Cauldron block override the RenderBlocks. Basically what happens is I can place my Custom Cauldron, and it behaves as though it has 16 levels of water I would really appreciate any insights or help you can offer on this. Here's my code, if you don't mind taking a look at it:. The getRenderType shouldn't return the same number as the cauldron, but should return the number your custom renderer has.

I don't think my custom renderer has a number. Can you please explain to me what I need to do in order to resolve what code I'm missing in my files. This will get a free renderID for the renderer and the "getRenderType " in your Block Class will return it as the render for your block.

Witches can drop potions of Healing, Fire Resistance, Swiftness, and Water Breathing, but only when they die while drinking that potion. Wandering traders have a chance to drop potions of Invisibility, but only when they die while drinking the potion. Using a glass bottle on a water source block or a cauldron that has water turns it into a water bottle.

Filling bottles from a water source but not a cauldron can be automated by placing the bottle s in a dispenser again, the water source block remains unaffected. Almost all potions can be obtained by brewingstarting with the water bottle as the base. Both are also available through the creative inventory. Two Instant Health II potions can be found in a brewing stand on ships in end citiesand one splash potion of Weakness can be found in a brewing stand in igloo basements.

The cauldron in swamp huts contains a random potion, making it the only way to obtain potion of Decay in survival.

Potions can be used by pressing and holding usesimilarly to eating food. Upon using, they apply the corresponding status effect to the player. Potions can be modified in five ways. The first is by adding glowstone dust to enhance the effect level. The second is by adding redstone to extend the duration of the effect. The third is by adding gunpowder to make a potion a splash potion. The fourth is by adding dragon's breath to turn a splash potion into a lingering potion.

The fifth is by adding a fermented spider eye to corrupt the effect, if corruptible, turning it into a different one.

The result of a corruption is usually the inverse of the original effect for example Swiftness to Slowness. Corrupting an extended or enhanced potion usually results in a corrupted potion with the same modifier applied, if it is supported by the corrupted effect. Of the four corrupted potions, Harming is the only one that cannot be extended, and also the only one that can be enhanced.

Some potions cannot be enhanced. For example, the Potion of Invisibility cannot be enhanced, as players cannot be more invisible than they normally are. Base potions are potions that are created first to brew into other potions. Base potions have no effect when the player drinks them. Makes player model disappear. Mobs can detect and track the player only at close range, although the range increases when the player wears armor. In splash form it is able to make mobs or other players invisible.

In Bedrock Editionthey can also hold potions, dyed water and lava. It is also a job site block used by leatherworkers in villages.

Cauldrons can be mined using any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. When a cauldron is destroyed, its contents are lost. A single empty cauldron is generated in each swamp hut. Cauldrons can be found in a few rooms inside of woodland mansions.

Two filled cauldrons can be found inside savanna, taiga, snowy taiga, and snowy tundra village tannery houses. In Java Editionthree filled cauldrons can be found in plains village tannery houses. A cauldron can be crafted from iron ingots. A cauldron can be filled with water by using a water bucket on the cauldron. Once completely filled, a cauldron can be used to fill a water bucket by using an empty bucket on the cauldron; this empties the cauldron.

Despite containing water, using a fish bucket on a cauldron does not fill it with water, but places water against it. One level of water can be added to a cauldron by using a water bottle on it.

One level of water can be removed from a cauldron, filling a water bottle, by using a glass bottle on it. A cauldron slowly fills with water when rained upon, if starting empty or with some water. Water can be stored in a cauldron even in the Nether.

Cauldrons do not deal drowning damage to mobs inside of them. A cauldron with water can wash the dye off of leather armor and shulker boxesand can remove the top-most pattern layer of a bannerby pressing use on the cauldron with the leather armor, shulker box, or banner in hand.

Each wash reduces the water in the cauldron by one level. The water does not become dyed while removing dye from objects. In Bedrock Editiona cauldron can hold dyed water. Using a dye on a cauldron filled with water colors the water, consuming the dye.
